Since 13 December 2024 the EU General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR, Regulation (EU) 2023/988) applies to every shop that sells consumer products to people in the EU. Online listings must show who made the product, an EU contact for products made outside the EU, how to identify the product, and its safety warnings.

GPSR Compliance for WooCommerce lets you enter that information once and shows it on every product page.

Save each contact once

  • Manufacturers with name, trade name or trademark, postal address, country, email, website and phone.
  • EU responsible persons and importers, for products made outside the EU.
  • Shared safety warnings you attach to many products, plus a free safety text per product.

Assign it where it fits

  • On a product, a brand (WooCommerce brands), a category, or as the shop default.
  • The most specific value wins: variation, product, brand, category, shop default.
  • Variations inherit from the product, with their own batch number, model and warnings when needed.
  • Bulk edit sets a manufacturer, responsible person, importer or warning on many products at once.

Show it on the product page

  • In its own product tab, below the description, or under the add to cart area.
  • A GPSR information block for block themes and a [wfgp_info] shortcode for page builders.
  • Open, or collapsed until clicked. Choose which details show.
  • Product identification: type or model, batch or serial number, the WooCommerce GTIN field and SKU.
  • Optionally show the information only to visitors with an EU address.
  • Adds the manufacturer and brand to the product structured data.

  • A GPSR column and filter in the product list.
  • An overview with the share of complete products and a list of products still missing data.
  • Choose which fields count as required.
  • Products made outside the EU are flagged when they have no EU responsible person.

Questions, answered

Where does the information appear?

By default in its own tab on the product page. You can move it below the description, under the add to cart area, or place the block or shortcode yourself.

Do I have to edit every product?

No. Set a manufacturer on a brand or category, or as the shop default, and every product in it uses that.

What about products made outside the EU?

Set the manufacturer's country. When it is outside the EU, the product needs an EU responsible person, and the overview flags products without one.

Does it use the WooCommerce GTIN field?

Yes. The GTIN entered in the Inventory tab is shown as an identifier. There is no second GTIN field.

Can I import the data?

Yes. Use WooCommerce, Products, Import with the GPSR columns. Contacts and warnings are matched by name and created when missing.

Does it work with block themes?

Yes. The tab and description positions work in block themes, and the GPSR information block can be placed in the single product template.
